2011-11-14 (TV2): Breivik: Incarceration Hearing
Oslo District Court: #: 11-188627 MED-05 | 14 November 2011 | Breivik Report/TV2.NO
Anders Breivik: When two parties meet it is important to introduce oneself. I am Anders Behring Breivik, Military Commander and Knight Templar in a worldwide organization.
Anders Breivik: I have objections to your lack of objectivity. (Breivik turns towards the judge). You have received your mandate from those who support multiculturalism. That is a hate ideology that supports the deconstruction of the Norwegian society …
Judge Torkel Nesheim: That’s enough. Do you plead guilty?
Anders Breivik: I admit the actions, but not guilt.
The incarceration meeting:
Judge Torkel Nesheim: Behring Breivik, I already have your personal information, so I will not spend time on it. You have acknowledged the facts, but not guilt. What is the situation now? Do you accept continued detention?
Anders Breivik: When two parties meet it is important to introduce oneself. I am Anders Behring Breivik, Military Commander and Knight Templar in a worldwide organization.
Anders Breivik: I have objections to your lack of objectivity. (Breivik turns towards the judge). You have received your mandate from those who support multiculturalism. That is a hate ideology that supports the deconstruction of the Norwegian society …
Judge Torkel Nesheim: That’s enough. Do you plead guilty?
Anders Breivik: I admit the actions, but not guilt.
Judge Torkel Nesheim: Have you anything to say about your incarceration?
Anders Breivik: I see it as a form of torture, an irrational form of torture. If you are to use a torture method you should use it to get information. Saudi Arabia has a good one to extract information from Al-Qaida prisoners ..
Judge Torkel Nesheim: (The judge interrupts Breivik.) Is it correct that you do not accept being in jail?
Anders Breivik: That is correct.
Judge Torkel Nesheim: So you want to be released?
Anders Breivik: Yes.
Judge Torkel Nesheim: Then I think we should go over to prosecutors. Be so good prosecutor.
Prosecutors: (...) We would like to cancel the letter, visitor and media ban to Breivik. (...) So far, the investigation is not given strong reasons to believe that Breivik has had aides to either the action or the preparation. (...) A release would clearly offend the public sense of justice. We therefore ask for an extension of custody for 12 more weeks.
Judge Torkel Nesheim: All right. Then we go over to the defense. Lippestad the word.
Geir Lippestad: It is important to prevent harm through isolation which can easily occur during custody. We therefore believe that there should be relaxed restrictions. (...) The accused is under conditions which equate to complete isolation.
Geir Lippestad: (Addresses Breivik) How do you experience being in jail?
Anders Breivik: There was a problem to go from a very active life to a very passive one, but now it’s going quite well.
(Later when the judge announces that he is lifting restrictions on reporting.)
Anders Breivik: I understand that there are some that were affected in the courtroom. May I speak to them for five minutes?
Judge Torkel Nesheim: No that you may not.
Anders Breivik: No.. alright.
